Andre Baldo takes part in Troy University's Fall Days of Service

Andre Baldo of Troy, AL, was among more than 90 Troy University students who answered the call to serve in September during the University's annual Fall Days of Service at the Troy Campus.

Sponsored by the Office of Service Learning and Civic Engagement, the event helped various local agencies in need of volunteer assistance while providing TROY students with the opportunity to become involved in community service.

The event is held in conjunction with the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. From Sept. 11-13, students participated in a variety of community service projects, including painting at the Boys & Girls Club, beautification work at Murphree Park and activities with children at the Head Start Program, among others.

TROY's Service Learning and Civic Engagement program links course content with purposeful volunteer experience that enriches academic learning by allowing students to apply the skills and knowledge gained in the classroom to help meet needs within the community.
