Troy University is proud to recognize new members of the "Sound of the South" Marching Band who joined during the Fall 2025 semester.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance opened the 2025-2026 production season with William Shakespeare's romantic comedy, "Twelfth Night". Set in 1920s New Orleans, "Twelfth Night" follows twins separated by a shipwreck. Viola disguises herself as a man serving Duke Orsino, who loves Olivia. But Olivia falls for Viola's disguise, and Sebastian's surprise arrival creates chaos in this tale of mistaken identity. The show ran October 10-18 in the Trojan Center Theater.

Troy University's Art and Design Department won 27 Awards in the American Advertising Awards Competition this year. Troy University announced the students who were awarded during a ceremony in February. This competition is held every year by the American Advertising Federation, which is the oldest national advertising trade association in the United States.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance recently performed Newsies. A large cast students performed "Newsies', based on the 1992 Disney hit musical. The spring show was presented March. 3-6 in Claudia Crosby Theater.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance recently performed Medea. About 40 students perfromed "Medea," an ancient Greek tragedy written by Euripides that tells the story of Jason, a Greek hero and leader of the Argonauts, and Medea, daughter of King Aeetes of Colchis, granddaughter of the sun god Helios and a powerful sorceress. The fall show was presented Oct. 21-27 in the Trojan Center Theater.

The production, which features 55 student dancers and eight choreographers, premieres seven dynamic works seamlessly connected through the explosive energy of continuous, athletic movement. The show ran Feb 20-23 in the Trojan Center Theater.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance presented its annual fall dance, "Art in Motion: Moving Pictures," in October. The production, which featured 69 dancers and 11 choreographers, took place Oct. 24-27.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance recently performed Eurydice. A cast of eight students performed "Eurydice' by Sarah Ruhl, a contemporary retelling of the ancient Greek myth. The fall show was presented Sept. 26-27 and Sept. 29 in the Trojan Center Theater.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance celebrated 10 years of its program with a show titled "Together We" in February. About 70 students and alumni participated in "Together We," a performance that takes place in conjunction with TROY's annual Day of Dance, in which dance students participate in masterclasses with professional working dance alumni. The show ran Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 24.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance showed off students' work and ideas with a performance of "The Seagull." A cast of 12 performed the comedy as well as other duties such as set design and technical elements. The show was April 4 in the Malone Blackbox.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance presented its Fall Dance show in November. About 70 students participated in "Art in Motion," a collaborative effort that stemmed from the inspiration of both artists and dancers as they worked alongside one another to create a unique dance concert. The show ran Nov. 8-11 and included an art display that ran through Nov. 14.

Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance attended the Region IV conference of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in Statesboro, Ga. After the week of events, Troy University students were singled out for awards and recognition.

Troy University dance students recently performed at the Alabama Dance Festival. Students performed seven pieces in the annual New Works Concert, which offers emerging choreographers the chance to present their work in a professional performance. While attending the festival, students auditioned for multiple summer programs across the nation, including professional companies such as Joffrey Jazz, Contra-Tiempo, Dance Theatre of Harlem, American Dance Festival and Jacob's Pillow, resulting in multitude of scholarship opportunities.
